2/14/23 Vlog #18 Film Lighting Techniques
Lighting is the use of well light to create maybe the emphasis on a character like a spotlight for example. Even backlighting so that the character's silhouette appears to make them seem like a mysterious dark monster or figure. In my film, I will use light to poke through certain holes like a fence to let a bit of light in but to the point where you could only see SOME of the character's faces. For this particular scene, I'd want to make it similar to that of this scene. This will be challenging because we'd have to make sure we have enough light going through the holes to show some of the characters to keep them "mysterious" in a way. Although scenes that we will be filming outside will require the use of natural lighting, using the sun's light will be useful for scenes that require going outside. The difficulty with this style of lighting may be that we cannot control how bright or dark that particular day will be.so if that becomes the case we will have to work with what we got. Though there are solutions to this maybe using something as shade in case it is too bright out for us to film. Another lighting technique I would like to use in my film and what I already have used so far is soft lighting. This lighting technique used to light that was not too abstract or extravagant to create a main focus during a scene so that the light wasn't distracting. In conclusion, there are multiple different film techniques that I will and already implemented in my film.
