2/17/23 Vlog #21 Sound Effects
Sound effects are similar to special effects but special effects are graphics while sound effects are things you hear in a film. Sound effects vary from turning on a lightsaber to opening a door. Sound effects help create diegetic sound in a film that a character reacts to or non-diegetic sound that a character doesn't react to. Either way sound effects are extremely important when it comes to film because it adds to a sense of what is happening. In my film sound effects I'd like to add are the sounds of gunshots that the characters get hit by or react to in order to make the scene even more dramatic. The main issue with this is not knowing how to use the software properly or having to mess up and restart. Another sound effect we could include is the creaking of a door opening to make a character seem more intimidating or scary similar to this clip in The Conjuring. We want to create this effect to make the mafia boss open the door to his victims and scare the victims. This will make the mafia boss seem scary and someone that they shouldn't mess with. These are examples of sound effects that I will implement in my film to make it stand out. In conclusion sound effects are used in many films to create a sense of what's going on and how it can be represented by using noise.
