2/18/23 Vlog #22 Music
Music is extremely important when it comes to filming to help increase the setting and overall mood of certain scenes. If there is a scene that contains action there would be an upbeat hype adrenaline rush type song. If a scene is sad it may be a slow type of song that sounds sad, similar to this scene from Up. In my film, I’d like to include Italian music, after all this film includes Italian mafia gangs that are religious so an almost festive-sounding upbeat song like this, while the gang beat each other up, would create irony and be perfect. The complications with this would be the timing and putting the song in. But to fix this my group will use editing software to time it perfectly and sound high quality. Other songs I was thinking of implementing into my film are songs like Thunderstruck by AC/DC. This will make the action exaggerated to make the viewer almost stressed out or even entertained with the film. The issue with using something like Thunderstruck is that it is a well-known common song used in films, so it may follow up with a trope. Solutions could be remixing it or finding a different song to not follow up with the trope. My group will figure out what songs to use for what moments are necessary for it. In conclusion, music is one of the most useful and important tools for the film.
