2/23/23 Vlog #27 Film Texture

Film texture, film texture is used to change the look or the way a film "feels". This can mean making the film texture blue to make a setting seem cold or lonely. Gray or film textures with scratches could be used to make something seem old-fashioned like Who Framed Roger Rabbit which has a vintage-looking film texture. Our group would want to use something vintage to create an old-fashioned effect as if it was a classic mafia to tell an old story. Similar to the Godfather had an old-fashioned film texture almost like a VHS tape with crackling and glitching. Other film textures we thought of using were black and white to create an extremely old-fashioned film. We would want to do this so that the viewer focuses on the film and not the colors of the film. Making the film a lower quality can make it look like it was published earlier like when films first started being released to give it that nostalgic effect. The problem with this is that we are under-equipped and only have iPhones to film with. The solution to this problem could be to figure out the settings on iPhone to apply the filter. In conclusion Film texture can tell the story of a film even better and emphasize the time period.
